DO YOU DEFINE GOOD HEALTH AS THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE?

As a veterinarian, I am thoroughly trained in discovering and treating disease, just like my physician colleagues. The underlying message is that disease is inevitable. Even the practice of Preventive Medicine is focused on looking for early signs or factors that cause disease, so we can prevent it or manage it when it occurs. You could say we have a “Disease Mindset.”

But suppose we adopted a “Health Mindset?” Suppose we took the approach that health is inevitable if we manage certain key factors? Suppose we look for the hallmarks of health and take action to support and manage health? What could that look like?

WHY I BECAME A HEALTH COACH FOR PETS AND THEIR PEOPLE

I saw many cases in my veterinary clinic where the issue with the pet mirrored a problem in the family. I started to see that the health and happiness of the pets was tightly interwoven with that of the entire family.

As a veterinarian, I am already trained in medicine and qualified to coach you about your pet’s health. But I want to be able to work with the entire family (or certain key individuals) because I see how stress, trauma, bad habits of nutrition, or environmental factors impact not only the pet but the people those pets love and depend upon.
